Not saying this happened in New Year in Manhattan (because I don't want to be a spoiler sport) but there was a conversation about marriage that had me thinking. Is marriage the vows, the ring or the wedding? Is it all of those things? Or, is it none of those things?Saying your vows is just a bunch of words if you don't believe them or want to live by them. I don't think you need a ring to have a committed relationship. A wedding is just a fancy dress party where two people are wearing the fanciest costumes of them all.
I think marriage and commitment is different for everyone. I think my vows were just words but every I love you since means something to me. I can count on one hand how many times my hubby and I have taken off our wedding bands. For me, I wear it like a badge of honour. I love all the thing it represents. Now, the wedding...I think my mum got more out of it than we did. We were buggered by the end and glad it was over.
Not everyone feels the same and that's ok. A commitment to love someone for the rest of your days can be shown with words, a ring or a wedding. Whatever floats your boat.
I really enjoyed this series. It was HOT! The characters were interesting and their everyday lives busy and far from boring. The love story made my heart flutter and I hoped from the very start that they would get more than they thought they wanted.
Each instalment was fairly quick to read but easy to spread out over a few days. I'm stoked that I started after they had all been released. If you're looking for a fast paced and sexy series, I highly recommend.

Great end to this series! But I am going to miss all of these characters, Anna & Ethan and Leah & Daniel. I wish there could be more. Maybe a Novella about both weddings.
I think I liked this one the best. The other 2 were really good, but they were just having sex and not really getting to know each other or doing anything other than have sex. In this book, I felt like they were getting a deeper connection, emotionally and socially. They were discovering things that they had in common, shared interests, when they went sight seeing in New York.
I am so glad I read this series and also Faithful and Hopeful and looking forward to reading more books by Louise Bay. You should also read them, they are very well written. The men are all alpha males, but in a good way, not Neandenthal like. I am getting really tired of the men in books who are all bossy and pushy and think the woman should have no opinions, those themes are getting old. I prefer a alpha male who appreciated the qualities in a woman and doesn't try bending her to his will. I am on a tangent. Thank you for a great book, Louise Bay.
I love romance novels! I’ve read some of this author’s other books and liked them, even loved some. These books were no exception. The premise was mildly intriguing - American man and British woman hook up in NYC, only to find out that he’s spending 3 months at her London law firm on an M&A deal. The heroine, Anna Kirby, was compelling - pretty, smart, and fun, albeit immature. The hero, Ethan Scott, was also compelling - handsome, successful, and sexy, but equally immature. They had great chemistry and plenty of sizzle. The storyline was fairly simple and predictable. Overall, very entertaining, and I look forward to more Louise Bay books!
I've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the final installment of this series since the quasi cliffhanger in book two. New Year in Manhattan picks up right where Autumn in London leaves off, with Ethan and Anna coming to some sort of decision about their relationship. Ethan has returned to New York and Anna is in London counting down the days until she can fly out to see him (thank goodness). However, no real decision has been made as to where they're going as a couple; all they know is that they want to be together.
They both are still insecure in the relationship even though they FINALLY admitted that they want a future together. They frustrated me in only the way they can. They also heated things up, across the ocean and in person the way only they could. Ethan's dirty mouth came in handy. I loved seeing a softer, more vulnerable side to Ethan that only Anna could bring out. And Anna was a rock star in this book. She finally, and I mean finally, broke out of her shell and laid herself and her heart on the line. She went after what she wanted, boldly, fiercely and without reservation, and what she wanted was Ethan.
I am sad to see this series come to an end. I really enjoyed the characters and watching them grow into the best version of themselves. I will say that the ending did seem a bit rushed. I wanted just a little more of the final surprise. Hopefully, I will get to see them somewhere, sometime in the future (please?).
I loved these books. Every one got 5 stars until the last book It was 5 stars until the last page when it ended abruptly and I felt disappointed. I guess that's how some books end. It's always disappointing when you don't get at least a few pages to feel like the story is complete. It was like climbing a mountain only to stop and turn around before reaching the top. I think many would enjoy these books. I just felt like all the enjoyment up until the last page fizzled out. It's how I always feel at the end of a Halmark movie. It just needed a few pages into the future to make me want to read anything the author wrote. It was that good. But I like to feel that the characters go on not just stop when he puts the ring on her finger...
