I loved the first 2 books in this series, but was seriously disappointed in this one. All throughout, it felt as though this was written by a different author. The characters were weakly developed, the plot was thin and disorganized. The writing structure was often so obscure (for lack of a better term) that I often had to read sentences over 3 or 4 times before I knew what they were saying. Lots of she/her/hers, he/him/his overused in sentences that left me Confused as to who was who. And, one of my pet peeves that seems to happen often in romance novels, the use of "disorientated" in place of the correct "disoriented.Really, do we have to accept such low standards in the romance genre? Are correct grammar, decent plot structure and good character development too much to expect?

Scandal Daughter Rogues and Gentlemen Book 3 edition by Emma V Leech Gemma Fisk Romance eBooks Reviews
The third installment of the Rogues and Gentlemen series just keep getting better and better. In the Scandal's Daughter we experience along with Sin and Georgiana how fast and hard we can fall in love and how our parents sins can break us apart. The Author Emma Leech write's a wonderful walk to the past were social classes still weighted heavily on lov and life
I got past the hero assaulting the heroine when they first meet. Their getting to know each other and the reality of their situation kept me going until the villainous uncle showed up at the 30% mark.
A sweet AND steamy romance, with truly believable characters. Georgiana is lovely and very human. Sebastian is handsome, virile and also very human. The tale could have been a real ‘meller-dramer’ complete with wicked uncle and a slightly villainous rival, but the dynamics were much more deftly handled. I found it very worth reading and am planning to follow up on this author. I did note a few grammatical errors, because I’ve been an editor, but it worth 5 stars.
Sebastian Grenville, Duke of Sindalton and Charles Stafford, Marquis of Beaumont are best friends with a long history. Their friendship is put in jeporady when Sebastian encounters the country doctor's niece, Georgiana Bomford.
What starts off as a fairly straight forward story line in this standalone novel, is changed by a number of plot twists and turns. It is those same unexpected surprises that make Scandal's Daughter by Emma V. Leech so engaging, entertaining and less predictable. At times I both liked and disliked each of the lead characters, but I always stayed enmeshed in their story. Ms. Leech's writing was descriptive (with a few steamy intimate scenes) and well paced as it marched towards a HEA.
My only real disappointment with this otherwise entertaining read was the author's use of religious expletives. Considering the many other period swear words to choose from, why insult readers who are of the Christian faith?
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Sebastian and Georgiana's romance seemed impossibly doomed initially, yet succeeds without any clever writing tricks. The typical romance stupidities never occur (no one jumps to stupid conclusions or runs away). Though less than perfect, the main characters are quite likable. I had difficulty putting it down. Sindalen was intriguing in the Earl's Temptation and grows more so as this story progresses.
The story itself deserves 5 stars, but numerous mechanical errors forced me to rate it as only 4. The story's flow is ruined when a reader has to stop and puzzle out the author's meaning because a word is missing or the singular subject has a plural verb.
I look forward to the next book in the series.
I enjoyed the other two books and was excited to read this one. Unfortunately, this was more of a miss than a hit for me. I thought Sin was kind of a jerk in some parts and let go of the heroine too easily in the beginning. Also, some of the early sexual interludes had the heroine saying no to the hero's advances, but her eyes and body said yes. Reading things like this made me uncomfortable. This being said, I am still looking forward to the next book and hope it is more like the first two.
Please, please, PLEASE get yourself an editor! The book is sweet and funny and romantic, the plot is well-laid out with great twists, the characters change and deepen... AND there are extra words, missing words, misspelled and mis-used words . . . In general, the editing stinks, and it really brings down the reading experience. Otherwise, should've been at least 4 stars.
